General Description

Set in gorgeous countryside between the hill towns of San Gimignano and Certaldo, Il faggiolo is a newly renovated farmhouse surrounded by vineyards and chestnut forests. The interiors of both the main house and its one-bedroom guest house are decorated in a traditional style, with the high, wood-beamed ceilings and the tiled terracotta floors that have kept Italian houses cool through centuries of hot summers. The bedrooms are beautifully finished, many of them with four-poster beds and all with thoroughly modern ensuite bathrooms. The fitted kitchen serves two indoor dining rooms as well as long table under a loggia in the garden, strategically positioned for the best views of Tuscany’s famous rolling hills. A large swimming pool lies between the two buildings, its stone terrace amply supplied with sun loungers and umbrellas. The nearest shops and restaurants are here, 8km/5 miles of which 1 ,5 km of not asphalted road. Two other famous hill towns, Certaldo and Volterra, are within easy reach. Castelfalfi, 19km/12 miles to the north is a sports complex with a top 18-hole golf course. Siena and Florence are both 1 hour’s drive. Private and well kept garden furnished with a pergola for al fresco dining while admiring the wonderful rolling countryside. The swimming pool, 7 x 14 meter/22 x 45 feet, is set 10 meters from the main house equipped with hydromassage.
