Die Villa „Poggio von Cortona“ ist auf einem wunderschönen Grundstück von 2 Hektar Land in optimaler Panoramalage gelegen. Das Anwesen ist umrahmt von alten Olivenbäumen, einer Vielzahl von Blumen und deshalb ideal für Naturliebhaber. Man kann von hier aus Camucia (1 km) zu Fuß erreichen und es liegt nicht weit von der Cortona (3km) entfernt. In den Orten gibt es Geschäfte, Lebensmittelladen, Bars und Restaurants. Villa Poggio ist eine der schönsten Villa aus der Villa & Charme Kollektion. Diese luxuriöse Villa wurde gerade erst restauriert mit viel Liebe zum Detail. Bei der Restaurierung wurde großen Wert auf den toskanischen Stil gelegt. Vom edlen Swimmingpool (4m x 10m, Tiefe von 1,20m bis 1,75m) hat man einen großartigen Blick auf die toskanische Landschaft, mit Blick auf Valdichiana und bis zum See Trasimeno. Der Pool ist vom 15 April bis Mitte Oktober exklusiv für die Gäste benutzbar. Der schön angelegte Garten ist ausgestattet mit einer Pergola mit Essplatz im Freien, für Abendessen gut geeignet. Die Innausstattung ist mit eleganter Einrichtung und bietet jeden Komfort. Die Lage der Villa bietet sich an für Tagesausflüge in die bekannten Städte der Toskana wie, Siena (50km) Florenz (100km), Montepulciano (20km), Assisi (20km) Todi (40km) oder auch die Metropolo Rom (250km). Auch das nahe gelegene Cortona ist berühmt für das Festival in wirklich charmanter Atmosphäre auf dem Hauptplatz. This luxury Villa has been recently recently restored with great care of details and respecting Tuscan tradition. It's situated in panoramic location walking distance from shops and restaurants and mid way Cortona and Camucia. From the pool great views on the valley and the lake Trasimeno. The pool is 4*10 and is opened from 15 april till mid october. (depth 1,20 till 1,75) This is one of our best and most recomended villas ideal for guest who like to be in contact with nature and walking distance to a village. Out side a very well kept garden with manicured lawn and a pergola for dinners al fresco. Inside elegant furniture and all comfort including AIR CONDITIONING . Absolute quietness dispite of the central location ideal to visit all major tuscan cities like Siena ( 50 km) Florence 100 km, and minor cities like Montepulciano 20 km, Assisi 20 km Todi 40 km, Rome 250 km. The medieval village of Cortona is world wide famous now for the Tuscan festival and the truly charming atmosphere of the main square. Paola, Fiorella and their family were warm and welcoming, truly embodying the spirit of tuscan hospitality. We so enjoyed meeting them and are inspired to learn italian and return. Our family has rented villas all over the world and the combination of the beauty of the setting, warmth and character of the house, and open hearted welcome has made this trip the most memorable for my family. Please extend our thanks to the Felice family for their hospitality. We would love to return soon. Ciao. marta Villa split into 2 halves: first half: dbl room, twin room - both aircon, kitchen with dishwasher, shower room & lounge/diner with aircon & internet access. 2nd half: large double with aircon, a twin, a lounge diner with aircon, a well equipped 2nd kitchen and a single whuch did not have a door, only a curtain so we moved the bed into the twin for 3 girls. This twin did not have aircon but the family we holidayed with bought a fan and left it there. Outside there is an annex with a washing machine and an outside drying area that does not impinge on your views. (There is an upstairs villa above the 2nd half which is still to be renovated - making the villa ideal for 3 famlies) The pool area and gardens are beautiful and well maintained - The owner show a great interest in gardening so little extras like a garden hammock, an outside shower and an under cover outside eating area (with power) are well thought out. Nice touches like pastries laid out on the first morning and a message book. Paolo visits early every morning without you knowing and checks the pool and on the middle Saturday a team descends to clean, change linen, check the pool and maintain the garden. The property is about a quarter way up the hill to Cortona with Camucia being closest for daily needs. 2 bicycles are provided but a steep climb awaits you whichever way you go and there are no pavements so a car is really necessary. Shopping was best done at Eurospar & Coop in Camucia and good meals were had at Il Melone between Camucia and Castiglione and also at Osteria del Teatro in Cortona (very traditional Tuscan ffod). A bit further afield in Montepluciano is Caffe Poliziano where you can sit on the terrace in the basement for good views. For a cheap night in whilst the euro is high the takeaway pizzas at Il Ghiottone in Camucia are brilliant. If I had any negative comments (and these are really picky!!) I think perhaps the lack of aircon in the 2nd twin should be mentioned and a ceiling fan in the outside eating area would be good to keep you cool whilst downing your G and T's and to keep the moths away at night. Aircon is charged seperately; the 1st 150kw is included; our 2 families only used a bit extra over the 2 weeks and we were let off the extra payment which would have been minimal. We only used the aircon in the bedrooms at night and not all night Have fun - we did! Joanne cambridge Dear Sabrina, I am sorry it took so long to reply. We had a great 2 week vacation in Tuscany from the first to the last day. Cortona was a perfect location to explore the surrounding cities and towns of Tuscany, all within reasonable diving time. We still talk about the charming town of Cortona with its intriguing small streets, shops and restaurants. Villa Poggio lies just below the town with breathtaking views over the valley. The house and grounds are absolutely beautiful. Paolo and crew keep it in immaculate shape and everyone was super friendly and helpful. We spend many mornings and evenings at the pool area to enjoy the wonderful views and the refreshing cool water. We hope to come back one day. Thank you, Ralf (USA Michigan) |
